As a former lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist who had some high profile gigs, I lived that lifestyle. Yeah, it got out of control, but I finally took the proverbial bull by the horns. Those days are gone and it's all so much easier now. I was living a delusional life in Joe Walsh's "Fast Lane". As the "King of Fun", I actually believed that life was real. Like I said, delusional.
